KVS Admission 2024: Registration starts for admission in KVS Class-1

KVS Admission 2024: As of today, April 1, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has opened online registration for Class 1 admission. Parents or guardians who are interested can visit the official website kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in to submit the form for their children. The link for applications will be live until April 15th.

Age Group


As of March 31, 2024, the minimum age requirement for students to be admitted to KVS Class 1 remains set at 6 years old. Only one application per parent or guardian will be accepted for the child’s admission. Only the most recent application form submitted for a child will be taken into consideration for admission.

These documents will be required during the application

  1. Original birth certificate of the child
  2. SC/ST/OBC Certificate (if applicable)
  3. residential certificate
  4. Service certificate of the child’s parents
  5. two photographs

Offline registration for Class 2 will also start today itself.

Additionally, grades 2 and up will have offline registration starting today and running through April 10. Starting today, kindergarten level 1, 2, and 3 registration will take place in person at the schools. As of March 31, 2024, children wishing to apply for kindergarten shall be

Kendriya Vidyalaya Class 1 Admission Preference

First Lot: Of the 40 seats in KVS Class 1, 10 seats in each section (or 25% of the total seats) must be filled in accordance with RTE regulations. Second Lot: Based on the priority category, a lottery will be drawn for candidates who are SC, ST, OBC, NCL, or PWD.

Third Lot: The remaining seats in the current priority categories of CAT-1 and CAT-2 (or, in the case of Project/IHL KVs, CAT-1 to CAT-3), after taking off the seats of RTE and Divyang candidates, if any. Only authorized strength or, in the event of a project or IHL KV, until all CAT-1 and CAT-2 applicants (or, in the case of CAT-1 to CAT-3) are accepted.

In the fourth lot, the total number of SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates who were accepted to RTE, DA, CAT-1 and CAT-2 (or CAT-1 to CAT-3 in the case of projects or IHL KVs) would be calculated from the third lot. After that, regardless of the authorized strength, SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates will be admitted in the order of priority of admission to fill any seats earmarked for them.

Fifth Lot: Only CAT-3 (CAT-4 in Project/IHL KV) applicants on unreserved seats are chosen for admission in accordance with the current priority list if, after all of these procedures, the sanctioned seats are not entirely filled and seats remain available.
