what is notice?

A notice is a medium to convey a message to masses together at the same time,

Distribution of mark

  • Format: name of the institution, ..notice , title , date writer’s name (1 mark)
  • content: what , when , where how, who, (2 mark)
  • Expression: overall organisation, accuracy, fluency (1mark)

Always remember:

  1. The language of a notice should be impersonal. It should be written in the third person,
  2. first and second person pronouns like, I and you, should never be used
  3. the notice must be put in a square box,
  4. it must contain complete information
  5. the purpose of the notice must be made very clear
  6. date of writing the notice must be mentioned
  7. it should carry all necessary information (e,g. for a meeting—the time, venue , date and agenda)
  8. it must have a signature and the designation of the signatory,
  9. marks for thumb-tacks can be shown at the four corners of the notice,
