A Triumph of surgery class 10 summary

It is an interesting chapter by James Herriot this is a story about a rich lady Mrs. Pumphery and her pet dog, Tricki the lady loved her dog very much and used to overfed him. she gave him cakes and chocolates to eat and horlicks at night. Tricki grew too fat to walk.

The lady was once advised by Mr. Herriot who was a vet doctor to give limited food to the dog and he suggested for a walk also but she did not follow his advice one day, the dog fell ill .he stopped eating and vomited again and again. his mistakes got worried and called Mr. Heriot

Mr. Herriot knew Tricki’s problems he decided to take him to the hospital for a surgery. Mrs Pumphery somehow agreed to this. there in the hospital the doctor gave dog no food but only waters. even the eggs or wine sent by the mistakes were not given to the dog it, those were actually consumed by the doctor himself without food.

The dog lost extra body weight. he started recovering and became active the lady thought that it was a triumph of surgery she thanked the doctor. Actually the dog himself got well the doctor had to do nothing for him. so the basic theme of this chapter is that excess of everything ( even food ) is bad
